So the saga has ended and Raheem Sterling has signed with Manchester City for £49 (£44 + £5 in add ons). With this deal Sterling becomes the most expensive English player ever (take that Andy Carroll!) and City's record transfer (for now). Twitter reacted, well, as you'd expect:
IT'S A DEAL! #MCFC agree £49m deal for Raheem Sterling with #LFC http://t.co/hwMNILSOK9 pic.twitter.com/f0VQHjKAcs

BREAKING: City and Liverpool have agreed a £44m fee for Raheem Sterling with a further £5m in future add-ons.

Then the reactions started coming in:
Jamie Carragher and Phil Thompson agree the Raheem Sterling fee is a great deal for Liverpool http://t.co/NezvpJ3uob pic.twitter.com/973JRm89Cu

Raheem Sterling is a very good young player but he has not yet hit the heights of an Owen, Rooney, Fowler or Giggs http://t.co/IfLPgI6Scl

49 million pounds Sterling!

If Raheem Sterling's worth £49 million then I'm an Aardvark.

Then some people had ones that made me chuckle:
City have paid seriously over the odds for Sterling! pic.twitter.com/Tx9DBNOFZx

Sterling cost me £80 million on football manager so I think City have got them selves a bargain.

My personal favorite:
City's owner is worth £17billion on his own. As if he's arsed that Martin, 21 from Shrewsbury thinks he paid too much for Raheem Sterling.

Finally, a Liverpool fan penned a letter to Sterling
This is hilarious. Definitely written through a haze of tears, and includes the obligatory 'Liverpool Football Club' http://t.co/eKcuDxFY39
