This Sunday, 24 year old Manchester City youth product Dedryck Boyata leaves the club after nearly ten years of service to join Celtic on a four year deal.

Boyata is the last player that remained from the 2008 FA Youth Cup championship winning side, and was named Young Player of The Season as his career seemed to be taking off with promise. After a few loan spells at Bolton and Dutch side FC Twente, Boyata never fully gelled with either Roberto Mancini or current boss Manuel Pellegrini. After having opportunities to get consistent time in the City first team, Boyata exits the squad with 34 competitive appearances, including honors in the 2010-2011 FA Cup title won by City in his debut season with the first team.

Boyata told Celtic TV that manager Ronny Delia personally visited the defender in Manchester with "all of the ideas he had for me playing for the team."We wish all the best to Dedryck in the Scottish Premiership. There's nothing wrong with looking for consistent playing time.
