Oliver Kay of The Times is reporting that City have had a £30 million bid rejected by Liverpool for Raheem Sterling:
Breaking: Liverpool reject Manchester City's £30m offer (£25m basic, £5m add-ons) for Raheem Sterling. http://t.co/IZjMisl89Q #LFC #MCFC

Although £30 million is not to be sniffed at, it does feel on the low side if City are trying to prise Sterling away (especially if Liverpool are a) in no mood to sell or b) intent on exacting every last cent from City).
In the light of this news, it is worth another look at this post from a couple of weeks ago here on Bitter and Blue.
My hunch is that a deal for Sterling does eventually get done, but City have to up their offer more towards £40 million than their starting bid.
