White Hart Lane hosted quite the competitive battle between two of the top clubs in England. City got the much needed win with a goal in the first half, however, Tottenham kept the contest close providing several opportunities. Many City players were in good form and helped their team continue with their winning ways.
Joe Hart - 8
Joe Hart had an outstanding performance in net making some very key saves throughout the contest. Hart was in great form, helping his team win and recording a clean sheet.
Aleksander Kolarov - 7
Tottenham's defense provided Kolarov with many opportunities, he was pushing the pace for City, always finding a way to cross the ball into the box and even had a very will placed shot on target that was saved by Hugo Lloris.
Martin Demichelis - 6
Demichelis didn't have a horrible performance but he was very sloppy with the ball at times when trying to clear it from danger.
Eliaquim Mangala - 6
Didn't provide much in this game, he had a conflict with Joe Hart when Hart was going for the ball, Mangala kicked it wildly away.
Pablo Zabaleta - 6
It was a quieter game than usual for Zabaleta who did play his part in City's attacking but didn't do much of significance.
Fernando - 7
Not involved much in creating offense but he had a crucial blocked shot that surely would have lead to a Tottenham goal if he wasn't there to stop it.
Fernandinho - 7
It wasn't the performance that he had last week, but Fernandinho had an opportunity just wide of target and had a beautiful chip in pass to Aguero which almost lead to City's second goal.
James Milner - 7
He had a good game helping create some opportunities for his teammates.
Frank Lampard - 7
Lampard started off strong in the first half, having chances to score and setting up plays. He was substituted in the second half.
David Silva - 8
Another good game for David Silva, creating opportunities as he always does, including the pass that lead to City's first goal.
Sergio Aguero - 8
The elite striker does it again, scoring the lone goal in the contest to lead City to victory.
Substitutions:
Samir Nasri (on for Frank Lampard, 73 mins) - 6
He came on, made a promising rush towards the net, and then suffered an injury. He was on the pitch for just three minutes.
Wilfried Bony (on for Samir Nasri, 76 mins) - 6
He replaced the injured Nasri and once again failed to produce anything of substance for City, although they were in a more defensive mind set when Bony came on.
Dedryck Boyata (on for Sergio Aguero, 89 mins) - 7
It was a pleasant surprise to see Boyata in such good for as he was sent on to defend Adebayor, and did so, winning several key headers.
