So suggest reports today, with these comments from former Inter player, and now Vice-President, Javier Zanetti:
When asked about the ongoing negotiations, Zanetti said to Gazzetta dello Sport: "We are at the stage where we hope we can complete it.
"Yaya would give us that leap in quality."
Former manager Roberto Mancini has been very vocal too about the prospect of landing Toure, and whilst there have been other links to PSG and Chelsea, it appears Inter may lead the way. Obviously any move would be subject to satisfying both City in terms of a fee and Toure's wages, which we know are not insignificant.
The comments from Zanetti may indicate they are confident of wrapping up a deal but don't you get the feeling that a Toure move could be the longest running saga of the summer?
