A date with the Canaries is on the cards

Today's third round draw for the Emirates FA Cup (yep, the name changed again) revealed that City will take a trip to Carrow Road on January 9th. The last time City played Norwich was on Halloween, when Joe Hart's howler and Cameron Jerome's ensuing goal left the door open a crack for Norwich before Yaya Toure slammed it shut with his penalty following a handball.

Looking around the upcoming fixture, City will travel to Everton in the semifinals of the League Cup on January 6th, and ironically also host Everton a week later on the 13th at The Etihad in the league. With the trip to Norwich sandwiched in the middle of that and on the back end of a busy winter schedule, it will be interesting to see how Manuel Pellegrini (if we believe he will still be in charge then) rotates the squad.

Norwich on current form have been up and down, as their most recent results have been a loss to City, win against Swansea, loss at Chelsea, draw with Arsenal, and loss at Watford. We are still a ways from January 9th of course and much could change by the time we get there.

What are your thoughts on the draw? Only 2 of the 32 fixtures feature an all-PL matchup, and of course we got one of them!
