Fabian Delph has spent his first four months as a Blues player fighting off injury. But in England's 2-0 loss to Spain in a friendly on Friday, he showed the box-to-box capabilities and an ability perhaps to create from a deep-lying position. Delph's quality on the ball and smart movement off it adds a potential new dimension to MCFC's attack late in matches which are deadlocked.
Can Delph make a big impact with the club this season? Manuel Pellgrini was very bullish on him before the year saying when he signed in July
"Fabian Delph is an excellent player, and I am looking forward to working with him. "He has made a huge impact in recent seasons at Aston Villa, and is now one of the brightest young midfielders in the Premier League. "Fabian has tremendous skill and energy, and the fact that he has become a regular member of the England squad is further evidence of his progress over the past few seasons. At just 25 years old, he still has his best years ahead of him."
