Manchester City v Sunderland: preview, live stream and TV schedule details

Happy New Year everyone! Hope you all enjoyed the evening and are fit and raring to go.

City kick off the New Year with a home fixture against Sunderland and will look to bounce back from the 2-2 draw at home to Burnley which saw them miss the opportunity to close the gap on Chelsea.

They will start favourites against Sunderland in a month that sees them travel to Everton and host Arsenal before the trip to Stamford Bridge that is looming large on the calendar. There are also (hopefully) a couple of FA Cup ties to be played too.

I don't expect many changes to the side by Manuel Pellegrini for the game, with the Sheffield Wednesday game on Sunday likely to have the greater number of changes. It does appear as though Frank Lampard may not feature as his loan agreement ends on December 31st and the Premier League window does not re-open until January 3rd, leaving him very much in limbo.

For those in the UK the game is on BT Sport, kick off 3pm GMT, and there are plenty of options elsewhere to catch the game.

In the States check out NBC Sports Live Extra and Premier League Extra Time, Canada has it on TSN4 and in Australia Fox Sports 4 is carrying the game. Full details of all the worldwide coverage can be found here.

Enjoy the game and do check back in for the match thread that will go up around an hour before kick off once the teams are announced.
