Dzeko extends; Zuculini joins Valencia

Alex Livesey

Continuing the theme of the last few weeks, the club announced today that Edin Dzeko has signed for another 4 years at the Etihad. It was all smiles for the Bosnian who announced the news on Twitter:

My only question: #until? Seriously, Edin, you hashtagged the word until?

Anyways, Dzeko follows Kolarov, Nasri, Silva, Kompany, and Aguero in signing long-term extensions with the club. With Joe Hart still rumored to be working on an extension himself, it's clear who the club deems as its core. However, there could still be a downside to these deals as outlined by our shuddertothink here.

In other news, promising youngster Bruno Zuculini has joined Valencia on a season-long loan. Seems like a good spot for the Argentine to develop. Zuculini will make it 4 CMs for Valencia alongside Dani Parejo, Andre Gomes, and defensive mid Javi Fuego. This also seems to suggest that Emyr Huws will step into the City first team after he returns from Wigan in January. The timing seems right anyway, with Frank Lampard going back to NYCFC and Yaya Toure joining up with the Ivory Coast.

Elsewhere, Jason Denayer got off to a good start in his loan stint with Celtic at the weekend, scoring on his debut while Celtic routed Dundee United.
