Even when Lampard's signing for NYCFC was announced I didn't see this as a possibility, even though the MLS season does not kick off until next March. We saw David Villa line up a short stint in Melbourne but I didn't see Lampard as keen to take up a similar move, especially one to a Premier League club. Equally, I don't see where there is a fit in City's midfield given the personnel already in place.
