Yaya Toure Named To PFA Player of The Year Shortlist

Nomination comes on the back of BBC interview where Toure claims he does not get enough respect.

Yaya Toure has been named to the six-man PFA Player of The Year shortlist, nominated by his fellow professionals.

The full list is as follows: Steven Gerrard, Eden Hazard, Adam Lallana, Daniel Sturridge, Luis Suárez, Yaya Touré.

Looking at the list, you would think it a surprise should Touré win, despite his stellar season, with Suárez the likely winner given the form he has been in for the most part this season.

The nomination for the powerful midfielder comes on the heels of this BBC interview in which he claimed that African players are not receiving the respect they deserve within the game.
