Well, this lineup is guaranteed to make some people unhappy. With United on the horizon, there were calls for some of the key players such as Silva, Toure, and Fernandinho to be rested, yet Pellegrini is revving them up for this midweek Capital One Cup clash. Aside from those few, the lineup seems about what most expected.

As for the subs: Hart, Boyata, Zaba, Nasri, Fernando, Navas, Aguero. No Scott Sinclair, no Matija Nastasic. That's about as telling of a sign as we'll ever get.
