The one player continually linked with a move away from the club during January was Joleon Lescott.
With the move up the depth chart of Martin Demichelis and return to fitness of Vincent Kompany, Lescott has found himself increasingly marginalised - in the Premier League at least - but despite rumours of a move to both West Ham and Fulham Lescott tonight tweeted (the modern way eh?) that he is to remain at the club.
A loan move was never on the cards for me it had nothing to do with wages just simply a chance to win 4 trophy's with #City this season

I wrote in The Metro that to have allowed Lescott to have moved on, regardless of whether any arrivals were brought in, would have been a short-sighted move given City's troubles this season in defence. Perhaps the breakdown of the move for Eliaquim Mangala confirmed Lescott's stay though.
With no indication of a new deal in the pipeline although Lescott will remain for the remainder of the season it looks all but certain that her will move on at the end of the season.
