Week 9 (Sortable Tables)

All tables set to Close Game State.

TSR

Man, Fulham and Cardiff (bottom of the table) are really bad.

There's a separation between the top 9 and the rest when looking at Close GS.

Man United are being out-shot at tied GS. Which is not very good at all.

SoTR

Again. we see that 9 team separation at Close GS, except that separation is more acute. Man City are a force at Close. Everton are pretty darn good too.

Fulham, Cardiff and Sunderland are halloween scary at the bottom of the table.

PDO

Teams with the super high, unsustainable PDO's tend to be those with the high save percentages. Here's looking at you Arsenal, Liverpool and Southampton. If those save percentages regress (they should, given time) then the points dropped and the reasons for the downturn in form should be amusing to read.

At the bottom of this table we find Palace, Sunderland and Newcastle, teams who are all suffering from poor save percentages. As are Man City (60.7% save%) who, if they had have had league average save% would have conceded 7-8 goals which is 3 or 4 less than they have now.

Swap City's save% for Chelsea (similar Shots on target conceded) and City would have conceded just 5.5 goals or HALF the amount they have conceded. City need to fix the save% issue, although it will (positively) regress and thus the results will improve.

Final Third Passes

Behold! The miracle..............

We have found something Manchester United are good at. United are posting a pretty nice final third possession % number right now. United are getting the upper hand in the territory battle, yet they don't have the skill/attacking scheme to turn the possession advantage into a noticeable shots advantage.

Bad Systems.
