International Round-up

A look at the City players on international duty this weekend.

Joe Hart had a quiet evening between the sticks for England as they defeated a Montenegro side featuring Stevan Jofetic and Stefan Savic 4-1 at Wembley. James Milner was a late substitute but had little time to impact on the game. To progress as group winners an secure automatic qualification to Brazil England to better Ukraine's result this coming Tuesday. England host Poland whilst Ukraine face San Marino.

Alvaro Negredo continued his recent run of good form by hitting both goals in Spain's 2-1 win over Belarus. David Silva also started the game with Jesus Navas an unused substitute.

Although absent through injury Vincent Kompany had plenty to celebrate as Belgium's 2-1 win over Croatia saw them qualify for their first tournament in a decade. Romelu Lukaku scored both goals in the win.

Bosnia are also on the brink of qualifying for their first ever tournament with Edin Dzeko netting a brace in their 4-1 win over Liechtenstein. Victory in their final match away to Lithuania will see them progress.

Argentina have already qualified for the tournament and they defeated Uruguay 2-0 with Sergio Aguero and Pablo Zabaleta featuring in the game whilst Yaya Toure is now just ninety minutes away from Brazil after Ivory Coast defeated Senegal 3-1 in the first leg of their play off.

Elsewhere away from qualification, Samir Nasri shone for France as Les Bleus recorded a 6-0 win over Australia. Gael Clichy was a second-half substitute. Matija Nastasic played the full ninety minutes in Serbia's 2-0 win over Japan with Aleksandar Kolarov on the bench.
