And some individual stats that stood out for me:
- Edin Dzeko and Sergio Aguero led City in shots with 5 and 3 respectively, but both only had 1 shot on target. The vaunted trio of Marek Hamsik, Ezequiel Lavezzi and Edinson Cavani had 2 apiece for Napoli.
- Samir Nasri had 4 key passes, with Aguero, Yaya Toure and Aleksandar Kolarov with 3 apiece.
- Passing leaders were Toure (119), Gareth Barry (111), Pablo Zabaleta (91) and David Silva (91). Toure was 12/12 when attempting long balls. For Napoli, Walter Gargano made 61, Hamsik 59 and Juan Zuniga 57.
- Passing percentages were down though and the usually high Toure (90%), Nasri (88%), Aguero (86%), Silva (85%) and Barry (84%) all lower than their Premier League average. The leaders? Defenders Zabaleta (95%), Joleon Lecott (92%) and Vincent Kompany (92%). However, Only Gokhan Inler (84%) and Cavani (81%) were over 80% for the Italians.
- Lescott led the way with 11 defensive clearances, followed by Zabaleta with 6 and Kompany with 4. Hugo Campagnaro made 13 clearances, followed by Paolo Cannavaro 9 and Salvatore Aronica 5.
- Kompany and Barry both had 5 interceptions apiece and Barry and Toure led the way in tackles with 3 apiece. Napoli fared much better with Campagnaro 8 tackles, Gargano 5 and Inler 4, whilst Campagnaro had 5 interceptions.
