By now you'll know the draw:
City will play Liverpool in the two-legged semi-final of the Carling Cup. We will be home in the first game on Wednesday 11 January.
The first game will be shown live on BBC TV and will kick-off at 7.45pm. The second leg at Anfield will be shown on Sky and takes place on 25 January also with a 7.45pm start time.
I posed the question out on Twitter yesterday as to what sort of side Roberto Mancini will likely face; the majority of replies suggested that they would expect a far stronger side than has featured so far in the competition.
Given that it is at the semi-final stage, and City face Liverpool not either of the Championship club then this argument makes sense. It is worth noting however that the ties (particularly the first leg) take place in the midst of a congested period of games (that includes Liverpool in the Premier League the week before) and Mancini's selection may well depend upon who City draw in the FA Cup third round, which takes place the preceeding weekend.
