That's how the morning has played out anyway, as after it emerged last night that both the two clubs had agreed finally agreed on a fee, and that City and the Balotelli camp had all but agreed on personal terms.
The mornings press all reported on this (Independent, Telegraph and Guardian) and true to this Balotelli arrived in Manchester this morning to undergo a medical, with Roberto Mancini confirming the deal was virtually complete at his mornings press conference:
Mario Balotelli has arrived in Manchester to finalise his move to City. Roberto Mancini told a press conference that the club was close to signing the 20-year-old Italy striker.
The City boss said: "We are close with Balotelli. Hopefully today or tomorrow. Mario is on his way here today."
More to come following the unveiling.
