Whilst Joleon Lescott wasn't expected to feature again this season, the club have officially confirmed he will miss the final two games of the season:
Joleon Lescott has been ruled out of Manchester City’s final two games of the Premier League season.
City boss Roberto Mancini confirmed that Lescott, who is recovering from a hamstring injury, will miss Wednesday night’s clash with Tottenham at Eastlands and Sunday’s trip to West Ham.
But Mancini does expect the former Everton centre back to be fit in time for the World Cup in South Africa.
Although England's defence is currently beset by concerns over both injury and form, having not played any football for the final weeks of the season it would now be a surprise should Lescott be named amongst England's final twenty-three.
