'Tevez could fight for move'

Carlos Tevez is set to stun Manchester City fans by fighting for a summer move if the club fail to qualify for the Champions League.

Tevez has become increasingly disillusioned at life at Eastlands under manager Roberto Mancini, and his adviser Kia Joorabchian is believed to have contacted some of Europe's leading clubs as a contingency if City miss out on the top four.

>>mail online.

This of course follows on from some of the stories of unrest that have surfaced over the past ten days or so, many of which came to the fore in Tevez's interview ahead of the derby.

If reports are to be believed then the central issue is Carlos Tevez's relationship with Roberto Mancini, which appears to be dissolving very quickly - and there have been rumours that regardless of whether we finish inside or outside of the top four that Tevez will look to move if Mancini is in charge for 2010/11.

It is difficult to attach too much credence to reports at this stage, particularly with no sources attached to the story, but the one worrying factor as regards Tevez's future is the continued involvement of Kia Joorabchian. When the Mail carried Tevez's interview, they strongly suggested Joorabchian remained close to Mark Hughes and this maybe merely a case of stirring up trouble.

You do suspect though that rumour and suggestion is going to continue to follow Tevez no matter what, so expect this merely to be the start of much more to come.
