Blackpool player ratings

Hart - A quiet afternoon and little he could do for either goal. 6

Boateng - His best performance to date. Looks a very commanding presence and should be a permanent fixture now. 7

Kompany - Another very good display. His tackling and anticipation of play again of the highest quality. 7.5

Lescott - First game in the centre and was fairly sound in possession but didn't look as assured as (Kolo) Toure has. 6

Bridge - Was positive in an attacking sense, but defensively was poor positionally. 5.5

de Jong - Lacked the tenacity and bite to his play. Clearly affected by the Ben Arfa fall-out. 5

Barry - Neat and tidy in possession as ever, but did nothing to dispell the suggestion that he needs to be part of a central trio to thrive. 6

Milner - The pick of the midfielders. Alternating across the midfield, provided energy, committment and delivery. 7

Johnson - Fired an excellent shot early on, but flitted in and out of the game. May have profited had he spent more time on the left. 6

Adebayor - Mancini praised his work rate, but the 'Dickov' role is not what we need from him. Offside too often and gave the ball away on more than one occasion. 5

Tevez - Delivered the killer blow and a touch of quality when it was needed. 28 goals in his past 31 games speaks volumes of his worth to the side. 8

Subs:

Silva - Possessor of a wonderful touch and sublime close control. The spark that saw us grab the points. 8

Richards - Replaced Boateng and the side didn't lose a step. 6.5

Vieira - Little time to impact. n/a
