Hamman finished?

DIETMAR Hamann could have played his last game for Manchester City after picking up an injury in training.

The 35-year-old German ruptured a ligament in his foot and it could be up to 12 weeks before he is back.

Hamann has flown to Switzerland where a specialist is looking at the extent of the damage.

The midfielder has seen the same doctor before after having a similar problem.

If the injury is as bad as feared, Hamann could only be available for the last couple of weeks of the season and will struggle to feature again.

He is out of contract at the end of the campaign and has not been a regular starter under Mark Hughes.
>>MEN.

It does look likely Hamman will have played his final game with us if the diagnosis is accurate as i don't see that he will be offered a new deal given the direction Mark Hughes is looking to take the make up of the side.

After a sticky opening to his City career he did show his undoubted class (despite advancing years) for the most part, but this season - seeing limited action - it does look clear that he does not have the legs to be a week in, week out performer in the Premier League.

If, as likely, he leaves us at the end of the season, will this also be the end of his career? I can see a Championship side or even newly promoted side taking a gamble on him but would he be interested in moving on and starting anew elsewhere at this stage in his career?
