Petrov out 3-4 months

Manchester City winger Martin Petrov is set to be out
of action until February because of a knee ligament problem.
City boss Mark
Hughes said: "It not his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) this time, he's got a
tear in his meniscus that will need to be repaired.
"Although it's good news
about the ACL it's still a bad injury and he will be out for three or four
months."

Pleasing news in some respects as the fear was that Petrov could miss virtually the whole season through the injury, and if the timescales are correct then hopefully he will be back at a time when our season is gearing up for a big finish.

What is worrying though is with these types of injury, although a player can get 'match fit', it does take far longer for them to return to the level they were at prior to getting hurt - something that will be exacerbated given the type of player Petrov is, and the position he plays in.
