Player of the season announced.

Richard Dunne has deservedly been announced as the supporters player of the season today. This was just reward for the outstanding season Dunne has had and recognition for the amount of progress he has made as a player over the last couple of seasons with City.
He has changed my opinion of him over the last two seasons as I did not believe he had what it takes to make it at City and felt many of our defensive problems could be traced to the feet of Dunne. However, his partnership with Sylvain Distin has grown from strength to strength and this has been proved by the fact we have one of the best defensive records in the league this season.
Testament to the season he has had is proved by the fact that he beat Shaun Wright-Phillips to the award. SWP has himself had a magnificent season and earned his first England cap in the progress.
Interestingly, Robbie Fowler was third in the voting and proof that not all the fans had deserted him and the form he has shown in recent months has vindicated those of us (yes, myself included) who maintained the faith in him.
Nedum Onuoha, who has impressed in a recent spell in the starting line-up was named young player of the year, with Bradley Wright-Phillips runner-up and Stephen Jordan in third place.
