Pearce confirmed as boss.

As predicted here on Tuesday - a full day earlier than most newspapers and websites reported it, Stuart Pearce has been confirmed today as Manchester City manager. Pearce, who has been doing the job on a temporary basis since Kevin Keegan's departure signed an initial two year contract and probably now joins Keegan, Royle, Horton and Reid as managers who are still being paid by City in one way or another following sackings.
It is a fully deserved appointment and hopefully the galvanising effect he has had on the club will continue now he has thrown off the 'L plates' and take charge on a permanent basis.
It was a clever move by the board and should ensure full support for the team ahead of Sundays crucial game with Middlesbrough.

Good to see both SWP and David James in the England squad for the summer tour to the USA. Hopefully, both players will get a chance to stake their claim for permanent positions in the side. In James case, I would expect the form he has shown this season to see him start during Paul Robinson's absence as Sven should resist the temptation to play Robert Green who has been patchy at best I feel for Norwich. SWP should hopefully get the chance to play in his best position for England, something which he has not been afforded so far in his England career.
