Joe Hart, Joleon Lescott and James Milner have been called up to the England squad for the World Cup Qualifying matches against Moldova and Ukraine. Lescott and Milner both featured for England in their last match, the friendly victory over Italy in Berne, while Hart returns after the minor back strain which also kept him out of the Community Shield.

Manchester City Football Club can confirm that Andy Welsh has left the organisation. Andy joined the Club Academy in July 2008, later becoming Academy Manager. He was further promoted to the role of Elite Development/Reserve Team Manager in December 2009. Andy was responsible for the coaching and training of the Elite Development/Reserve Team and Academy scholars, as well as first team squad members who were not participating in League and Cup competitions. Manchester City Football Club would like to thank Andy for all his hard work, dedication and commitment during his time at the Club and wish him every success in his future career. Attilio Lombardo will assume responsibility for Elite Development and Reserve Team squads.

Manchester City have appointed Tom Glick, the Derby County chief executive, to the newly created role of chief commercial and operating officer. Glick will leave Derby in August to begin the job. John McBeath, City's acting chief executive, said: "Since September 2008 [and Sheikh Mansour's purchase] Manchester City has been a club in constant development and evolution. It is important we recognise that we must now further evolve in order that we can continue to create and capture potential opportunities. To do that we need the very best people and the board believes that Tom is the ideal person for this role."
