According to a report from the Express, Italian giants Juventus are considering a move for Manchester City left-back Gaël Clichy. Clichy'ss current contract ends in only six months, so he would move to Italy on a free transfer.
Gael would be replacing Patrice Evra, who is eager for a move back to his beloved Manchester United, but is actually very close to a transfer to Valencia in Spain.
If Clichy were to not be given a new contract at City, it would be a sign that a new face will fill the left-back position. A few players that have been linked with a move to the Etihad are Benfica’s Alejandro Grimaldo, and Atlético Madrid’s Theo Hernández.
Clichy has actually played quite well as of late, scoring a rare goal against Burnley last Monday (with his right foot!) which gave his side the momentum to go on and take all three points with ten men in a very tough game.
If the 31-year-old does depart from the Etihad, it will be a hard goodbye. His services to the Sky Blues in the years he spent in Manchester will always be appreciated.
