City's Portuguese starlet (that's what they'd call him if he were Brazilian, right?), Marcos Lopes, has confirmed he's set to move to French Club Lille for the entirety of the 2014-15 season.
Having yesterday shared the news on Twitter, Lopes appears to be on his way to the French side that finished third in Ligue 1 last season.
With Lille having qualified for the Champions League, all that stands between Marcos Lopes and first team minutes in Europe's top competition is a two leg playoff with an as of yet, unannounced opponent. While some had hoped he'd be ready to break into City's first team this coming season, a full year on loan without the pressures that come with fighting for the Premier League title are sure to boost his confidence as well as ensuring crucial playing time to further his development.

While official Club confirmation has yet to appear, many have reported that the loan does not provide Lille with a buy-option at the end, perhaps signalling that the long-term plan is to have Lopes back at City for the 2015-16 season.
