PL Week 4: Alternative Tables

TSR (Total Shots Ratio) Otherwise known as Corsi in hockey. This looks at a teams share of the total (missed/blocked/on target) shots count.   shots for / total shots (shots f + shots a)

SoTR (shots On Target Ratio) This looks at a teams share of the shots on target count. shots on target f / total shots on target

Fenwick This looks at a teams share of the shots count with all blocked shots removed.missed shots f + shots on target f / total missed shots + total shots on target

PDO Scoring% (goals/shots on target) + Save % (100-goals against/shots on target against)

Only 4 game weeks have taken place and quality of competition can have a big influence  on some of these numbers.

The TSR ratings are starting to get a little scary for Fulham. The newly promoted sides are starting to bunch in the bottom 6 too.

God knows what may happen to West Ham if their PDO falls off and their TSR doesn't pick up the slack. If Newcastle look good by the shots numbers but they're dragging around that terrible PDO.

Final Third Passes

A new stat to Bitter and Blue this year is Final Third Passes. A proxy of sorts for territory. Man City, Everton and Tottenham look mighty good after 4 games. The newly promoted teams look over-matched.
