News you will all no doubt be aware of but confirmation came yesterday (officially at least) that Jesus Navas has completed his move from Sevilla for a fee of £14.9 million. Per The Guardian:
Manchester City have completed the signing of Jesús Navas from Sevilla for an initial fee understood to be £14.9m. The 27-year-old winger is on international duty with Spain but City have confirmed the transfer has been completed after a medical in New York.
Sevilla said last week they had agreed a deal with City for the World Cupwinner. He will link up with his new team-mates after the Confederations Cup in Brazil and a short holiday.
Navas told the City website: "Manchester City is an exciting project and this is the right moment for me to take this step. I'm very happy with the opportunity and the decision.
On his potential role and what he will bring to the side, Navas said:
"I'm able to make the field wider," he said. "It's important to be dangerous on the pitch. I play with pace and will be dangerous.
"Everything about football in England is exciting. It's fast, it's end-to-end. It was an idea I had to come to the Premier League and enjoy this kind of game.
"I'm excited by the team, by the challenge to win important titles and to be at a stadium like the Etihad. I feel we'll do great."
Both Zac Macphee and shuddertothink have previously taken a closer look at Navas. Well worth checking out again.
