Manuel Pellegrini seemingly has the best shot at taking over the manager duties at City after Mancini's sacking less than a month ago. Talk of his hiring has been going around, but a step has been taken in the right direction as Pellegrini clarified that he has made an agreement with the team. "I have a verbal agreement with them and hopefully it can become official." the former Malaga manager told a reporter.
For some devastated City fans, the loss of Mancini's scarf is still sinking in. However, for others the news couldn't have come at a better time, for stories continuously arise of Roberto's rudeness and intolerance toward players and fans alike. His time here in the blue side of Manchester is seen as both a blessing and a curse, depending on who you are. There were numerous moments that brought smiles to faces, and the new-found wealth that has come upon this team truly helps when looking back, as does the League Cup. Yet, this season was the one that could have been. A disappointing loss to a relegated team in the FA Cup final and a second place finish (though that isn't bad) give the impression that the team wasn't working to full potential. Maybe we'll see if the squad can push even harder.
Pellegrini at City is something that is almost necessary. He will face some tough decisions, such as which players to keep and which players to deem useless in the squad itself. He's looking for a challenge, and its looking him right in the eye. Lets just wait and see.
Here's to next year.
