City to face Chelsea in FA Cup semi-final

Alex Livesey

Earlier today Chelsea defeated United 1-0 in their FA Cup quarter-final replay at Stamford Bridge (SB Nation Chelsea blog WAGNH recaps it all here).

There can be plenty of discussion about whether Chelsea will be a more favourable match-up than United would have been. An interesting point to note though is that whilst City face United next Monday evening in the Premier League Chelsea face Sunderland at home on Sunday, a game that is sandwiched between their Europa League quarter-final tie against Rubin Kazan - which, crucially, sees the away leg on the Thursday (three days) before the semi-final takes place.
