BBC Sport, among others, is reporting David Silva will be unavailable for a month, having picked up a calf injury against CSKA. At least with the two week international break, he'll miss less matches than he would otherwise, but he'll still certainly be out for games against Sunderland, Tottenham, Plzen, Swansea, West Brom and possibly Southampton. That would leave him a maybe for the final group stage match against Bayern -- a game that may or may not provide City a chance to finish first in the group.
It will be interesting to see how City cope without the Spaniard as he's been particularly instrumental this season. Jesus Navas will likely see an extended run in the starting XI, with Nasri assuming Silva's creative role on the left while Navas moves to the right -- a change that would see City play a bit more direct than usual.
On a more positive note, multiple reports saying Kompany might return for the weekend trip to the Stadium of Light.
