Italian sources though, have told Manchester Evening News that Inter are keen on the wantaway Blues forward, and are willing to sacrifice the Dutchman in order to get him.
A swap deal would also likely suit City and Tevez, who are both supposedly eager to avoid a deal with Corinthians.
Since the recent Corinthian deal has failed to move Tevez, the Metro is reporting that Inter Milan has offered a swap containing Wesley Sneijder for Carlos Tevez.
This makes me wonder if the talks go nowhere for Sneijder, would we see Eto'o re-enter talks?
Wesley Sneijder would be the trade of the summer transfer for City. He would immediately stabilize the midfield and hopefully help City secure the #2 spot in the EPL.
This also explains as to why the Corinthian deal had fallen through the floor at the very last minute. It seems that both Inter and City we're hoping for Corinthians to come short.
As stated above Eto'o could possibly enter trade talks if somehow United out muscles City for Sneijder.
Receiving Sneijder will also provide a sore spot for United fans who are so eager to receive the Holland international.
In other news the BBC is reporting that Aguero is inching closer and closer to a City signing which means a Tevez exit is imminent. (LINK)
City boss Roberto Mancini has decided to press on with a deal for Aguero even without finance from the sale of Tevez.
The two sides are moving towards agreement on the £39m buy-out clause in the 23-year-old's contract.
BBC Sport understands no deal has been struck yet but negotiations are progressing smoothly.
Tevez seems to have been completely left out in the cold with Mancini coming out publicly saying he does not want the striker back at City reports Mirror Football. (LINK)
